Our client is looking for an Experienced Purchasing Manager from an Engineering or Commercial Background however Retail Experience may be considered in the Yorkshire / Lancashire area.
Responsibility for a number of Goods Not For Resale (GNFR) areas across the business.
This role will work on the area of Fixtures and Equipment
Our key objective is to reduce the overall cost in this area. This will be done by both challenging our buying costs and acquisition processes.
Your key responsibilities will be to identify, challenge and reduce the cost of our fittings, fixtures and equipment. We have a challenge ahead to reduce our total cost per sq/ft to build and this role will be expected to positively impact these costs.
Main responsibilities:
· Achieve the £s per sq/ft target by reducing the bought out cost areas of responsibility.
· Define and communicate category strategies for each area of expenditure.
· Find and establish new sources and suppliers
· Negotiating on existing products and suppliers
· Identify and understand industry best practice.
· Working closely with key stakeholders within Retail Development & Trading
Design team and specification for model information
Fixture Managers, Trading Projects and the Implementation teams
Cost Management team to understand current costs
Trading Floor innovation managers
· Develop strong internal and external networks to develop understanding of industry best practice.
· Continuous improvement of the process and identifying further opportunities to reduce costs within the area of responsibility.

Ideally the candidate will:
· Have procurement or buying background preferably with Fixtures/Equipment/Installation experience
· Ability to communicate & influence at a variety of levels
· Be highly self motivated
· Holds or willing to work towards CIPS
