Duties & Responsibilities:
Managing all picking staff on a daily basis
Managing field yields, quality of fruit and picking to orders
Ensuring harvest is as economic as possible thus ensuring on an hourly basis that staff are meeting their targets
Identifying training needs and ensuring that individuals who have been identified receive the necessary training to ensure quality standards are met.
Dealing with problems and incidents on the field including staff problems, quality issues and working to production timescales
Forecasting crop production and yields
Managing staff rota’s and where staff will be based, along with monitoring the fields and the fruit to ensure all is picked in the correct timescales.
Work with the Owners and other managers to maximize the revenue potential of the crops
Maintaining morale and enthusiasm
Targeting and managing key members of staff
To ensure that all members of staff comply with policies and procedures implemented by Makins, and keep staff up-dated of any changes.
Person:
The ideal candidate will;
Have at least 3 years experience in management; experience in Harvest Management would be advantageous.
Have at least an NVQ level 3
Excellent leadership and management skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to delegate and prioritize.
Motivated and enthusiastic.
Approachable.
Salary; £18 - £23k
