Day-to-day duties will include:
- Monthly monitoring of year spend against budget, review with budget holders and Group Managers and explanation of variances
- Development of budget bids in conjunction with Group Managers for presentation to Strategic Directors
- Provision of financial advice and expertise to budget holders & Group Managers as required
- To oversee accounting arrangements for the company's fixed assets
- To act as systems administrator for the fixed asset accounting system
- To lead on fixed asset accounting requirements for the statement of accounts
- Preparation of correction journals for input to General Ledger as required
- Preparation of working papers for final accounts as directed by Accountancy Manager
- Completion of statutory and non-statutory returns as directed by Accountancy Manager
- Development and maintenance of comprehensive desk instructions for all tasks
- Liaison with internal and external auditors, with particular regard to the external audit of the annual accounts
- Any other ad-hoc duties as directed by Finance Manager
