Music Press / Collector's Drawers
A very attractive antique Music Press, which can also be used as a set of collector's drawers.

Believed to be of Victorian age, the dimensions of the piece are as follows:

1450mm high; 635mm wide; 635mm deep

It has 15 drawers, of graduated sizes, with the smallest being 43mm deep and the largest being 140mm deep.

The first 6 drawers are 535mm wide. The remaining drawers are 565mm wide. All of the drawers run freely. The folding panels at either side of the press are designed to be locked, but I don’t have a key for them, unfortunately.

The drawers have been numbered internally with ink (see photo). The top of the piece, only visible if you are very tall, has acquired some fairly significant scratches; the impact of these could be reduced using some basic restoration products. Overall the piece has a well-worn patina, with small dents and marks commensurate with age and usage.

This piece is designed to be viewed from the front, as the rear and side panels are much less finely finished. It would look very good in an alcove and the tones of the wood really add warmth and character to any room.
