Dr. Pat Frankish (Consultant Clinical Psychologist) along with her esteemed colleagues Dr. Valerie Sineson (Clinic for Dissociative Studies), Professor Nigel Beail (Sheffield University) and others, has dedicated much of her long and distinguished career to developing ideas and practice around Disability Psychotherapy. Together they have developed their therapeutic approach and worked to establish the Institute of Disability Psychotherapy (IPD), which is part of the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP).

In this Web Based Level 1 introductory course Dr. Frankish introduces the fundamental ideas and concepts of Disability Psychotherapy.

Drawing upon her vast knowledge base and clinical experience Dr Frankish covers the history of the approach, introduces the work of Winnicott, Bowlby and Mahler and also introduces the listener to assessment methods used.

In the final session Dr Frankish uses clinical case examples to illustrate the application of the approach. This course comprises of 4 lectures and supplementary reading material and takes approximately 10 hours to complete.
