We are people with learning difficulties taking control of our lives.

Faced with the difficulty of finding staff who will support us the way we want we have decided to choose and train staff ourselves.

We are looking for people who are unemployed. People of all ages, backgrounds and cultures are needed to work as personal assistants.

The training will be on 10 Tuesdays, starting on the 24th November 2009.

After the training, we will choose people from the course to go on a list of personal assistants. This will be available to people with learning difficulties who want to employ their own staff.

We cannot guarantee employment after training. However, we know the demand for personal assistants is going to rise.

You will need to have a Criminal Records Bureau check to work.
