Role Description:
There is only one chief, the rest are Indians!
As Assistant General Manager, you really are an “integral cog” on this machine. Directly reporting to the General Manager you will assist in specific aspects of the business.
Able to demonstrate your internal controls with regards to stock and staff are a given, but you will totally committed to your guests. You must also be a budding “foody” , with passion for quality produce being served in an informal yet very professional manner. This is a multi-million pound operation, but that only drives you on, and you get a real “buzz” when running the reports at the end of a shift, to see if you have set a new record. You can be a calming influence, even under the most pressured situations. Leading from the front and by example, you will be responsible for motivating and inspiring a large and organised team especially so at peak times. It is because of this you will be keen to lead from the front lending your experience and co-ordinating the front and back of house operations.
****Role experience****
Having worked within the industry either as a Senior Assistant Manager within the themed or branded market, you will be aspiring to better yourself with regards to level of service and overall professionalism. The fundamental issue is that you are dedicated to quality of food and level of service you fully appreciate that the guest is “king”. You are the most passionately driven and professionally committed individual that you know. You lead completely by example, and project “WANNA-DO” attitude in everything that you take on. Able to recognise problems both financial and team-wise, you can competently communicate at all levels and gain the perfect resolution.
Obviously you will be fully conversant in health and safety legislation and be systems and standards driven. You will have a passion for getting things done systemically, correctly but most importantly completely.You will need to be able to forge strong relationships with the local business community and be able to build sales.
You must have proven experience in both wet and dry operations with strong staff management experience and are a proven cost controller. If you are an all rounder who wants a new challenging, with a pro-active attitude this is the ideal opportunity for you.
