Working for a large law firm in the city centre, where they are lookng to recruit a Group accountant. You will be responsible for reporting to the Group Financial Controller, this role is for a qualified accountant with experience of consolidation/group accounting. Working in a team of 7 to 8, you will be responsible for the preparation of the group financial reporting and statutory accounts, monitoring the integrity of entity management accounts, application of accounting policies and the consolidation and interpretation of the worldwide results of the Firm both for management accounts and financial statements. Additionally, the role will encompass system implementation and taxation computations and analysis in conjunction with others within the team.

This role demands an experienced and skilled individual to compliment the internal Finance Team and a credible individual with strong influencing skills who will work with partners, tax advisors and auditors.

Duties will consist of working with other members of the management accounts team, co-ordinate and complete the global management accounts and financial statement production, responsible for the co-ordination of the reconciliation and integrity of all accounts in the general ledger in conjunction with other managers in Finance, notably the Finance Operations and Development Manager and the management accounts team, liaison with the overseas management accountant to ensure timely and accurate management and financial reporting of the non-UK operations and the consolidation and audit of results, ensuring inter-entity reconciliation, co-ordination of the annual audit, planning, dealing with issues and achieving deadlines as agreed with the Group Finance Controller, work with the Group Financial Controller on the timetable for external regulatory reporting, industry reporting and tax submission. Additionally, preparing specified tax returns e.g. PSA., global cash forecasting and treasury management in close liaison with Finance Operations and Development Manager and other members of the management accounts team, project responsibility for projects affecting the management accounts team, acting as project manager as appropriate, involving the accounts teams in all jurisdictions, responsible for liaison with IT for the Management Accounts Team.

Suitable candidates must be able to work in a team environment, assist and support colleagues as required, flexible regarding additional hours as the occasion demands, interpersonal skills – An effective communicator, a strong influencer, a resilient personality, enthusiastic, dynamic and comfortable in dealing with demands of the owners of the business, professional approach to the workplace and a credible individual in dealings with external parties, ambitious to add value through developing the role and subsequently taking on an increased role within Finance, CCAB accountancy qualification and at least 4 years post qualified, consolidation and group accounting experience essential, competent with desktop and Microsoft packages (word, and excel), experienced in use of general ledger packages, working knowledge of UK GAAP, IFRS, entity tax computations and Companies House.
