Softball is a social game that can be played by people of all ages and all abilities. Softball refines baseball rules to allow the maximum amount of enjoyment for everyone regardless of ability. Teams are made up of 5 girls and 5 guys to make softball a sociable and fun sport. Contrary to popular belief softball is not played with a soft ball but instead played with soft underarm pitches to encourage more hitting and therefore more excitement. The Leeds Softball Association has three divisions with 7 teams in each division playing games weekly. The LSA also organises several teams that take part in weekend tournaments against other softball teams from all over England.
