Background

Marketing services group requires an experienced in-house IT Support Engineer with at least three years of experience supporting all aspects of Corporate IT infrastructure.

The role will also cover managing the company’s client hosting services.

Skills and Expertise:

- Knowledge of Windows Server, MS Exchange, Active Directory, Windows Client OS, Mac Client OS and MS Office Applications.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software problems
- Good fundamental knowledge of TCP/IP Networking, DNS, DHCP, LAN, WAN, VPN, and Firewalls.
- Sound understanding of internet protocols and technologies Routing/Firewalls/DHCP/DNS/SMTP/HTTP/FTP/etc essential
- Microsoft IIS (Web & FTP), Microsoft SQL server, Microsoft WSUS essential.
- Shared Hosting Management Tools (e.g. Helm) Control Panel / Smartermail / Smarterstats would be an advantage
- Understanding of Linux/Unix based systems would be an advantage
- Scripting (Vbscript / powershell) for task automation an advantage
- Recognised certifications are an advantage but not essential

Your main Areas of Responsibility for In House Support:

- Office Server Maintenance
- MS Exchange and Internal Email management
- ADSL Server management
- NAS Server management
- Basic Telephone support
- ADSL Line Support
- Server Backups (daily tape backups)
- Hardware maintenance/support (both PCs and Macs)
- Peripheral maintenance/support
- Software installation, upgrading and maintenance (for both PCs and Macs)
- General Network/Cable/Switching Support
- System monitoring and alerting
- Ghost system imaging

Your main Areas of Responsibility as Hostmaster:

- Set up hosting packages
- Support and advice on site hosting, statistics, domains, etc.
- Troubleshooting and addressing server performance issues
- Monitoring and advising on server performance
- Customer Hosting Support
- Domain Name / DNS Management
- Customer Account Management

Other duties

- You may be asked to do some customer support
- An understanding of web technologies would be an advantage
- You may also be contracted out to our clients to provide IT support to them by phone, email and on-site.

Successful candidate will have an ability to communicate in a cross-cultural environment with multiple personalities, an ability to multi-task, self starter and eager to learn.

Salary is negotiable based on experience.
